What does the future hold for leaders of tomorrow?

Leaders are critical to the success of an organization. Leading in today’s world is different to 10 years ago, it’s different to 2 years ago! With the continuous increase in tech in our lives, we need our leaders to be more human than ever. That isn’t easy for some people who have been promoted to this role. But, there are measurable behaviours and skills and mindframes that can be taught and then developed in all people.

We’ll help you develop a new generation of leaders who are:

Exceptional leaders know who they are and how they affect others. They can regulate themselves and are chameleons responding to what situations demand.

Positive visionaries who can morph between the inspiring and the practical. Able to assess and adapt based on changing environments.

Driving exploration and improvement across the board. Observant and proactive and always open to new ways forward.

How does neuroscience help me develop better leaders?

There are huge demands on leaders today. These are further compounded by the complex environment we’re asking leaders to work in. Neuroscience is the discipline that studies how humans really work. It gets deep into what it means to be human and helps us understand and predict behaviours more effectively. Every leader should have a foundational understanding of how people work.

Training Programs

The Influential Leader

Your position means you have huge potential to impact others. This can be in a good way or a less helpful way. Understanding how humans work, what their core drivers are, what engages them and lights them up versus what will bring out the worst in them is essential if you want to help people fulfill their potential. Your people can do amazing things in your organization, or they can just show up for the paycheck. Neuroscience shines a light on all the ways you can be more impactful and a force for good.

The Change Architect

Behaviour change is at the heart of most organizational development. For people to become more innovative, more productive, adopt new approaches, or even adjust to new, effective, ways of working…you need behaviour change. Leaders need to understand how behaviours are influenced. What networks in the brain are involved and how they can be activated. When to use which methods to get people to change, and when they’d be a waste of time. This programme shortcuts years of learning to distill down the insights that will be most practically impactful for you in your role.

The Culture Creator

The environment your people exist in strongly affects how well they are able to contribute to the organizational objectives. It isn’t true that all cultures are created equal. Different cultures are better for different outcomes, and you need to understand what type of culture will best support your strategy. Then you need to be able to transition from your existing culture to bring in the aspects that will positively impact your people daily; helping them to do what they need to do without even having to think about it.

” Her subject knowledge, delivered with energy and enthusiasm, engaged the audience from the outset…”

“Amy Brann provided a session on ‘Risk’ for around 60 senior leaders within our university. Her subject knowledge, delivered with energy and enthusiasm, engaged the audience from the outset and she managed to reset the organisation’s attitude to risk, which had previously been rather risk averse, to align far better with the goals of the new Strategic Plan. The session was fun and informative and also offered a valuable opportunity for staff to get to know each other.”

Leadership Workshops

We also offer Workshops for Leaders that are…

Scientifically underpinned

Our workshops are underpinned by the latest science and this means you can trust the content. There are no fears that 20-year-old theories that were disproved 10 years ago may crop up!

The focus of each workshop is to deliver specific objectives, and also to inspire and equip people to think differently. Most of us know more about our favorite hobby than we know about how our brain works.

Our workshops explain the fascinating science that shapes our decisions and behaviors daily…then most importantly shares HOW TO USE THIS. The value in our workshops comes from what people do afterwards.

Below are examples of our most popular workshops. If you are interested in leadership workshops on other topics then please get in touch!

Workshop: “Optimizing Leadership”

Introducing ‘The Synaptic Circle’. This is the scientifically underpinned approach to leadership, cultural maturity and strong organizational development. Leaders walk away having evaluated their personal areas of strength and weakness, their teams and their organisation. They can refer to the model as a checklist to make substantial improvements over time. Leaders recognise the logic behind the components of great leadership, can see the science and invest time in strategizing how they can improve how things are done in their context

What your leaders will learn about:

  • The neural drivers to behaviour. How to use this to predict and influence behaviour for desired outcomes.
  • The things they need to do weekly to build a stronger, more effective organization.
  • Questions they can use to Coach their teams to further develop them.

Workshop: “Accelerating an Organization towards Change Readiness”

Change Readiness NQ is the capacity of your organisation – and in particular the employees working within your organisation – to intelligently anticipate, prepare for, manage and respond to change, proactively cultivating the resulting opportunities and mitigating potential negative impacts. By identifying and assessing potential capability gaps in your employee’s Change Readiness NQ across its core pillars, you will be able to make informed decisions that will strengthen the change readiness of your organisation.

What your leaders will learn about:

  • Why Change Readiness NQ is so important and how to use this information to get ahead of the challenges
  • Practically what you need to be doing to be proactive instead of reactive.
  • How to not only become more agile, but also increase flexibility in thinking and resilience and innovation.

Understanding how people work is hugely valuable to your organisation. Creating ways to serve and be served by your employees is an art and a science. Most of the science organisations base their decisions on, if any, is outdated and not optimally effective.

We communicate clearly the relevant science to you so you are empowered to reshape your organisation to maximise the resources within it. We work together with our clients, typically in an all-day session or regularly over a period of time, to equip you with the relevant information that will enable you to get the most out of your people. You are left with a deep appreciation of the core concepts that are affecting your business. We take your organization’s development very seriously. It is a privilege to be trusted by bold and visionary leaders.

Leadership Keynotes

Want something for a larger audience?

Audiences are fascinated to learn about the inner workings of their brain and mind and excited by the potential they hold within themselves. We are a leading authority on transforming personal and corporate productivity through increasing understanding of how to work with your brain and those around you. Rich in accessible content and relatable examples our Keynotes are easy for people to get their teeth into and identify the take home messages most useful for them.

Below are some of the Leadership Keynote that we offer. If you are interested in having Amy present a Keynote on a different topic then please just get in touch!

Keynote: “Leading the way with Mental Health”

The neural underpinnings to dealing with a period of intense stress is specific. Therefore, there are a set of exercises and interventions that are most appropriate when people are experiencing high levels of stress. The activation of particular networks in the brain are healthy and normal – however, to perform well and remain healthy we need to deactivate these responses in a timely fashion. In contrast to stress, helping people to develop resilience, like a psychological immune system, takes time to develop. This keynote invites leaders to integrate resilience building approaches into everything from meetings to reward structures.

What your leaders will learn about:

  • The neural underpinning to stress and resilience and practically what this means you need to be doing.
  • How to know if someone might be in trouble, and what to do.
  • What a mentally safe culture looks like.

Keynote: “How to Create High Performing Neural Environments”

The brain has so much to tell us about how we can best work. We are incredibly easily influenced by our environment and things other than just our will. Trying to get the best out of people without being aware of these things is like trying to do a puzzle with a blindfold on. This keynote helps you remove the blindfold and get the structures in place that will help build the picture as efficiently as possible. People are complex and leadership is a hard role, but understanding more about humans really helps!

What your leaders will learn about:

  • How different types of work require different brain networks to be activated and how to set people up to succeed with this.
  • The mistakes most organizations make in trying to build innovation into the culture, and what to do about them.
  • Using environmental nudges effectively
